The Emergency Operations Public Safety Center is located at 26571 Airport Rd. Punta Gorda, FL 33982. This center is utilized for back up purposes for both Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and Punta Gorda Police Department Public Safety Centers in the event of an emergency. If an emergency occurs at one of the main facilities, the emergency operations center will be activated and telecommunicators will relocate. The emergency operations center has many of the same capabilities as the main facilities and the building structure is capable of sustaining winds from a category 5 hurricane. Training drills are conducted regularly at the back up site.
